Daniel hadn’t worked for over 2 years due to disability, lack of confidence and a reserved & shy demeanour. Daniel did not have an up to date CV and the last interview Daniel had was two years ago and he needed support with interview techniques and he also lacked training and qualifications.
Daniel lives in a supported housing scheme. After deciding he wanted a career in in construction Daniel signed up to Love London Working and met with
Project Officer Marianne who established his short and long term job goals. From this he was put forward for a Demolition and Asbestos Course which ran for 2 weeks in Nov 2018. This course helped Daniel gain his confidence, and he was able to interact well with his peers and also with the trainers. He also completed CV development and interview techniques with Marianne and attended one to one sessions which further boosted his confidence and trust with Marianne.
Daniel has now gained his CCDO (Demolition) Card and his Asbestos certificates and has now started employment with a well-known construction company. Daniel also is thinking more long term and plans on starting a Track Maintenance course to secure his future prospects.
Daniel is a role model for others who have a disability and that lives in supported housing as he was determined to improve his situation.
Well done Daniel!
